M-BRAD® Mounted Disc Brush
Technical informationBrush Diameter4 InchFilament MaterialNylonWire Diameter0.016 InchArbor Hole7/8 InchTrim Length1 1/2 InchMax. RPM3500 RPMPack Qty1Uniquely flexible brush. Ideal for deburring and work on surfaces. Perfect for use on stationary machines. Composite brushes from PFERD have been specifically developed for industrial, automated use. They are suitable for a variety of applications and their variable mounting options mean that they can be used on many different drive systems. This offers the advantage that the workpiece can be produced and finished on the same machine. As a result, labor-intensive, manual work is reduced and repeatable results are achieved with short cycle times. Nylon filament brushes are designed for working on materials that would otherwise be scratched or damaged, e.g. soft plastics. Plastic filaments are temperature-resistant up to 410°F.AdvantagesLong tool life and aggressive brushing action due to the high filament density.Extremely smooth operation due to evenly distributed filament material.Special arrangement of the filament enables optimal adjustment to the workpiece contour, less heat build-up, and more efficient use of the coolant.ApplicationsCleaningDeburringMaterials that can be workedThermoplasticsThermosetting plasticsOther non-ferrous metalsDrive TypesTool machineRobotStationary machines

This does not affect the brushing behavior. The bridle enables the spreading out and flexibility of the brush filament to be controlled. The bridle prevents the wires spreading out sideways.ApplicationsCleaningDeburringMaterials that can be workedThermoplasticsThermosetting plasticsOther non-ferrous metalsDrive TypesFlexible shaft driveTool machineRobotStationary machinesStraight grinderSafetyWhen clamping the brush, ensure that the shank is clamped as far into the arbor as possible. This especially applies to high rotational speed ranges. The minimum clamping length is 10 mm.
