Bi-metal hole saws
HSS hole saws thread version 1/2-20 UNF
Hole saws are made from tough, shatter-proof, sturdy HSS bi-metal. The saw teeth are made from high-quality M42 material. They are used for cutting out holes. Arbors with a 1/2-20 thread are part numbers 29033 and 29036.Special featuresCost-effective sawing of round cut-outs.Alternating tooth pitch prevents chattering during sawing.High concentricity.Good chip removal. The hole saw is conveniently centered and guided via the replaceable bi-metal pilot drill.Hole saw arbor comes with an ejection spring for improved ejection of the cut material.Recommendations for useObserve the recommended rotational speed.Clamp the pilot drill in the hole saw arbor and make sure that it projects at least 1/8" over the teeth of the hole saw."When cutting metals, use a high-quality cutting oil, if possible. This facilitates smooth running and extends the hole saw service life. Exception: when working on aluminum, use kerosene instead of cutting oil.Bi-metal hole saws are suitable for work on stainless steel (INOX). In order to avoid corrosion, remove any particles that develop from the workpiece during work. Clean the workpiece chemically or mechanically (etching/polishing, etc.).Make sure that all the teeth are applied evenly. To prevent tooth breakage, avoid swinging movements during sawing.Avoid overheating the saw.Observe the maximum cutting depth. The 1" diameter is designed for cutting out holes for plumbing and heating pipes. The 1-3/16" diameter is designed for cutting out holes for plumbing and heating pipes.Safety notesWhen using shank extensions, the recommended hole saw rotational speed must not be exceeded in order to prevent accidents.Workpiece materialsAluminumBrassBronzeChipboardCopperHard non-ferrous metalHardwoodOther non-ferrous metalsPlasticsSoft aluminium alloysSoft non-ferrous metalSoft woodStainless steel (INOX)SteelSteel, cast steelSteels up to 220 HV (< 95 HB)Steels up to 370 HV (< 38 HRC)Tough aluminium alloysWoodZincApplicationsCutting out holesDrillingCompatible power toolsColumn drillPower drill
