Achieve matte and satin-finished surfaces. Long belts are compatible with commonly available belt grinders. POLIVLIES® grit size 100 G = coarse (yellow-brown)Special featuresCost-effective due to high abrasive performance and durability.High tear strength with optimum flexibility.Consistent work results due to high grain adhesion.Recommendations for useUse the appropriate grinding oil for the material to significantly increase the service life and the abrasive performance of the discs. For best performance, use at a recommended peripheral speed of 1,000-3,000 SFPM.SafetyFollow all safety instructions for abrasive belt use.Technical informationVersioncoarse, yellow-brownWidth2 inGrit100 GPack qty10
Mounted Flap Wheel
Mounted Flap WheelWith mounted flap wheels, coated abrasive flaps are arranged radially around the core in a fan-like structure. The flexible flaps perfectly adapt to surface contours. The abrasive grain is embedded in the sturdy, flexible cloth backing material with a resinoid bond. In ISO 3919, mounted flap wheels are designated as "flap wheels with shaft." For universal applications from coarse to fine grinding.Special featuresConforms to contours due to high flexibility.Consistently high stock removal rate throughout the entire service life as new, aggressive abrasive is constantly exposed. Can be used face-down very close to edges and in corners due to the flat, molded-core design.ApplicationsDeburringStep-by-step fine grindingLevelingStructuring (matt finishing, brush matting and satin finishing)Surface workWork on weld seamsMaterials that can be workedStainless steel (INOX)Steel materials with a hardness > 54 HRCSteels up to 370 HV (< 38 HRC)AluminumAnnealed cast ironBrassCast steelCopperGrey/nodular cast iron (GG/GJL, GGG/GJS)Hardened, heat-treated steels over 370 HV (38 HRC)Recommendations for useFlap wheel wear and the thermal load on the workpiece are reduced by decreasing the contact pressure and peripheral speed, and by adding grinding oil.Stock removal rate should be increased by using a coarser grit, not by increasing the contact pressure. This avoids unnecessary flap wheel wear and prevents the thermal load of the workpiece.Increasing the speed results in a slightly finer surface quality. An increase in contact pressure results in a slightly coarser surface. The softer the workpiece material, the coarser the resulting surface (when using the same grit size). For the best performance, use with a recommended peripheral speed of 3,000-4,000 SFPM. This provides an ideal compromise between stock removal rate, surface quality, thermal load on the workpiece and tool wear.Use the appropriate grinding oil for the material to significantly increase the service life and the abrasive performance of the discs.SafetyFor safety reasons, the maximum permitted rotational speed indicated must never be exceeded. The contact pressure has to be reduced significantly when the optimum rotational speed is exceeded.Ensure the clamping depth is at least 5/8" and the specified maximum rotational speed is not exceeded with unsupported shank lengths.Technical informationDia. POLINOX® Convolute Wheel
POLINOX Convolute WheelPOLINOX® convolute wheels produce matte surface finishes. POLINOX® convolute wheels are made of spiral-shaped, non-woven abrasive which is wound around a core and foamed up. The foam supports the non-woven component and positively impacts its service life and abrasive performance. This particular bond results in non-woven wheels with a very good surface finish, high stock removal rate and long service life. These properties are particularly apparent when deburring, blending, finishing and polishing soft metals, alloyed and high-alloy steels, in addition to titanium alloys. The wheels can be used on stationary machines and bench grinders, as well as portable power tools like straight grinders. Dressing the wheels allows them to adapt to different workpiece geometries. Medium-soft variant with increased flexibility and extended service life, for tough blending and polishing applications. Well suited to machining contours.Special featuresCost-effective due to high abrasive performance and durability.Produces very good surface quality. Can be profiled as desired, enabling optimal adjustment to the contour.ApplicationsCleaningDeburringStep-by-step fine grindingRougheningStructuring (matt finishing, brush matting and satin finishing)Surface workMaterials that can be workedStainless steel (INOX)Steel materials with a hardness > 54 HRCSteels up to 370 HV (< 38 HRC)ThermoplasticsTitaniumTitanium alloysZincAluminumBrassBronzeCast steelCobalt-based alloysCopperFibre-reinforced thermosetting plastics (GRP, CRP)Hardened, heat-treated steels over 370 HV (38 HRC)Nickel-based alloys (e.g. Inconell and Hastelloy)Recommendations for useConsiderably reduce peripheral speed for work on materials with poor heat-conducting properties, e.g. titanium and stainless steel. For the best performance, use with a recommended peripheral speed of 4,000 SFPM.
