Unitized Mounted Point, Ball Shape, A26
Unitized Mounted Point, Ball Shape, A26Multiple heavily compressed, non-woven layers, which are bonded together by a special grain/resin system. The SiC version is ideal for demanding tasks on hard or sensitive materials. The ball shape KU is often used for contour grinding and backside deburring.Special featuresCost-effective due to high abrasive performance and durability.Produces very good surface quality. Can be profiled as desired, enabling optimal adjustment to the contour.ApplicationsCleaningDeburringStep-by-step fine grindingRougheningStructuring (matt finishing, brush matting and satin finishing)Surface workMaterials that can be workedAluminumBrassBronzeCast steelCobalt-based alloysCopperFibre-reinforced thermosetting plastics (GRP, CRP)Hardened, heat-treated steels over 370 HV (38 HRC)Nickel-based alloys (e.g. Inconell and Hastelloy)Stainless steel (INOX)Steel materials with a hardness > 54 HRCSteels up to 370 HV (< 38 HRC)ThermoplasticsTitaniumTitanium alloysZincRecommendations for useFor the best performance, use with a recommended peripheral speed of 2,000-4,000 SFPM. This provides an ideal compromise between stock removal rate, surface quality, thermal load on the workpiece and flap wheel/cross buff wear.Considerably reduce peripheral speed for work on materials with poor heat-conducting properties, e.g. titanium and stainless steel.SafetyFor safety reasons, the maximum permitted rotational speed indicated must never be exceeded.Technical informationShapeBallVersionMW (medium-soft)Width3/5 inDia. shank1/4 InchDrive typeFlexible shaft driveGritF (fine)Max. Universal Rasp File 8" with Handle
PFERD special files are designed for specific uses, such as for processing soft metals and thermosetting plastics, for deburring parts turned on a lathe, or for sharpening cutting tools. Rectangular file with different cuts on both flat sides. Tanged version with ergonomic file handle. Cross cut 1 on front side for roughing, rasp cut 1 on back side for rasping, and one cut edge. Combination of cross cut on one side and a rasp cut on the other side for coarse roughing and machining. Files come in point-of-sale packaging with ergonomic file handles.
Unmounted Flap Wheel
Unmounted Flap WheelWith unmounted flap wheels, coated abrasive flaps are arranged radially around the core in a fan-like structure. The flexible flaps perfectly adapt to surface contours. The abrasive grain is embedded in the sturdy, flexible cloth backing material with a resinoid bond. In ISO 5429, unmounted flap wheels are designated as "flap wheels." For universal applications from coarse to fine grinding.Special featuresConforms to contours due to high flexibility.Consistently high stock removal rate throughout the entire service life as new, aggressive abrasive is constantly exposed. Can be used face-down very close to edges and in corners thanks to special clamping system.ApplicationsDeburringStep-by-step fine grindingLevelingStructuring (matt finishing, brush matting and satin finishing)Surface workWork on weld seamsMaterials that can be workedStainless steel (INOX)Steel materials with a hardness > 54 HRCSteels up to 370 HV (< 38 HRC)AluminumAnnealed cast ironBrassCast steelCopperGrey/nodular cast iron (GG/GJL, GGG/GJS)Hardened, heat-treated steels over 370 HV (38 HRC)Recommendations for useFlap wheel wear and the thermal load on the workpiece are reduced by decreasing the contact pressure and peripheral speed, and by adding grinding oil.Stock removal rate should be increased by using a coarser grit, not by increasing the contact pressure. This avoids unnecessary flap wheel wear and prevents the thermal load of the workpiece.Increasing the speed results in a slightly finer surface quality. An increase in contact pressure results in a slightly coarser surface. The softer the workpiece material, the coarser the resulting surface (when using the same grit size). For the best performance, use with a recommended peripheral speed of 3,000-6,000 SFPM. This provides an ideal compromise between stock removal rate, surface quality, thermal load on the workpiece and tool wear.Use the appropriate grinding oil for the material to significantly increase the service life and the abrasive performance of the discs. For the best results, use a power tool with 1,000–1,500 watts.SafetyUnmounted flap wheels should only be used with the appropriate clamping flanges. For safety reasons, the maximum permitted rotational speed indicated must never be exceeded. The contact pressure has to be reduced significantly when the optimum rotational speed is exceeded. The maximum permitted peripheral speed is 9,800 SFPM.Technical informationDia. Valve Guide Brush
Technical informationBrush Diameter5/16 InchFilament MaterialSteel wire (ST)Wire Diameter0.006 InchShank Diameter1/4 InchMax. RPM2500 RPMPack Qty10Brush for brushing valve guides. High brush stiffness for aggressive cleaning. Steel wire is the most common filament material. Brushes with steel wire as the filament material are ideal for work on surfaces and deburring. PFERD special wire has high tensile strength and bending fatigue strength. This ensures that the wire wears down in the optimal way, as well as a long tool life, even in extreme brushing applications. Steel wire is temperature-resistant up to 600°F.AdvantagesThe metal sleeve construction enables stable operation without bending.Includes knurled handle for manual use.Long service life through use of PFERD special wire.Creates fine surfaces.ApplicationsCleaningDeburringDerustingRemoving oxide layersPaint strippingRougheningMaterials that can be workedSteel, cast steelSteel materials with a hardness > 54 HRCSteels up to 370 HV (< 38 HRC)ThermoplasticsWoodCast ironCast steelThermosetting plasticsDrive TypesFlexible shaft driveManual applicationPower drillSafetyFor safe use, guide the brush into the workpiece before beginning work. When clamping the brush, ensure that the shank is clamped as far into the arbor as possible. This especially applies to high rotational speed ranges. The minimum clamping length is 10 mm.
Velcro-Backed Abrasive Disc NET Type
Velcro-Backed Abrasive Disc NET TypeHook and loop-backed NET type abrasive discs feature a netting fabric, to which the abrasive grain is bonded with a high-performance bond system, making the discs very durable. For dust-free, universal grinding work on medium-sized and large surfaces.Special featuresVery long service life and high stock removal rate.Achieve very fine and even surface qualities.Dust-free work thanks to good extraction capability. No loading due to netting structure.Durable netting structure with high tear strength and edge stability.ApplicationsCleaningStep-by-step fine grindingRougheningSurface workMaterials that can be workedStainless steel (INOX)Steel materials with a hardness > 54 HRCSteels up to 370 HV (< 38 HRC)AluminumBrassBronzeCast steelCopperHardened, heat-treated steels over 370 HV (38 HRC)Recommendations for useUse the extraction connection on the machine to effectively remove the grinding dust.Technical informationDia.
